The perfect way to save money is by using left over turkey. Turkey Pot Pie is the yummiest type of pie and will satisfy everyone’s stomach.
The main ingredients needed to prepare the Turkey Pot Pie is pastry dough for a double crust pie, ½ cup of milk, 4 tablespoons of butter, 3 potatoes that have been peeled and cubed, 1 ½ cooked and cubed turkey, 1 small minced onion, 2 chopped celery stalks, 2 diced carrots, 3 tablespoon of dried oregano, salt and pepper to taste, 2 cubes of chicken bouillon, 2 cups of water, and 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
After a preparation time of 20 min, the directions for cooking is as follows. You must preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Roll a circular form out of the dough for the bottom part of the 10-inch pie crust and then set it aside. Place two tablespoons of butter into a skillet and mix in the onion, carrots, oregano, parsley, celery, pepper, and salt. Stir the mixed vegetables until they soften, mix in the bouillon, and add water. Stir the potatoes until they are tender; wait until it boils. Melt the remaining butter in a medium size sauce pan, and then mixed in the turkey and flour. Next, add the milk until it is heated through. Add the turkey mixture into the boiled mixture of vegetables until it thickened. Put the cooked mixed mixture into the pie shell. Roll out the rest of the dough and place it on top of the pie. Bake in the preheated oven for fifteen minutes and then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Wait 1 hour or until golden brown and then remove from the oven.
