Holiday Recipe: Cream Cheese Mints

Cream Cheese Mints have an appetising combination of peppermint flavouring and cream cheese. These candies make ideal favours for children, weddings, bridal showers, and other holiday parties. The recipe yields more or less four dozen mint patties.

The ingredients used in making Cream Cheese Mints are the following: 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 tbsp of softened butter, 1 tbsp of light corn syrup, ½ tsp of mint extract, 4 cups of powdered sugar, food colouring (optional), and coloured sprinkles or granulated sugar.

The directions on how to make this recipe are as follows: Put the corn syrup, butter, mint extract, and softened cream cheese in a large bowl and beat it with a stand mixer until creamy and smooth. Add the confectioners' sugar gradually and blend until the candy is combined well. Taste and adjust the flavouring of the candy to suit the taste. If one desires to make a variety of mint colours, separate the candies into additional bowls and perform the desired colouring into the pieces of the candies. Use a spoon to scoop and roll the walnut-sized candy into the palms and shape it like a ball. After forming it as a round object, roll it in coloured sprinkles or granulated sugar. Next, put the ball on a baking sheet/wax paper and, using a glass or the palm of the hand, crush the ball into a round flat candy. Dry both sides for approximately two hours each. Put the mints in a sealed container and, if desired to keep it longer than several weeks, store it in the refrigerator.
